Hi,
I’m Justin Barone. I was born June 6 1981, with a heart defect called Tetralogy of fallot. There was a hole in the dividing wall of my heart and valves that would not close properly causing it to work over time. I had my first surgery at 6 months old. The second was at 2.5 years to fix leaking valves, and the third came on my 9th birthday. That one was to repair the the inner chamber.
My parents never let that condition hold me back and they pushed me to look past it. Encouraging me to get involved in sports and physical activity when most would have confined their little one to a protective bubble. So I thank them immensely.
I am now 37 years old and have had my trials and tribulations. 3 kids, a divorce, and an implanted defibrillator, just to name a few. I’m probably more positive than ever about the direction of my life.
I decided to start this blog in hopes of helping other people navigate through the challenges that they face in their own lives. I have always had a solid family support group behind me and without them I may not have made it through some of my own obstacles.
With this site I want to help others by discussing and writing about my experiences, both positive and negative. Hopefully my journey, the changes, mistakes and successes help others get through their darkest moments.
